The brand began as a student's bet. Co-founder Siheon Keum was still finishing university when he launched it, working under a parent operation often cited as Hana Company, and the decision to build a skincare label rather than take a conventional first job was the entrepreneurial gamble at its heart. The cheerful name and grinning early logo were never just decoration; they signaled a deliberately low-stakes, approachable identity aimed at younger buyers who found clinical-looking brands intimidating.
The most interesting formulation choice sits inside the flagship All Day Vitamin line, and it is a chemistry decision dressed up as a marketing one. Pure L-ascorbic acid, the most-studied form of vitamin C, is notoriously unstable, oxidizing and browning in the bottle. Rather than fight that, the brand leaned on sea buckthorn, the so-called vitamin tree, as a base, using a fruit extract naturally rich in carotenoids and tocopherols to deliver vitamin activity in a more shelf-stable, gentler package, then layered in niacinamide, alpha-arbutin, and ferulic acid for brightening support. It is a sensible workaround for a budget brand that cannot rely on the cold-chain stability tricks pricier vitamin C serums use.
That eye-catching extract percentage printed on the label, carried out to two decimal places, is best read as confidence theater. A precise figure feels rigorous, but concentration alone never settles whether a formula performs; delivery and stability do. The line skews fragrance-free and vegan-leaning, and the soothing cica and aloe ranges round out a catalog built for sensitive, easily-irritated skin.
The market it entered was already thick with affordable Korean vitamin C and centella products, so charm became part of the differentiation, friendly packaging, a feel-good name, prices low enough to experiment with. The honest framing is that this is a likeable starter brand that delivers real, if modest, actives without pretending to be a lab, and for a first vitamin C or calming routine, that is a perfectly fair place to begin.
