The guide
Learn the site in
seven short steps
From your first answer to a skin dashboard that tracks your skin over months. Every step shows the real screen and ends with something you can try right away — read it, or let the audio walk you through.

One site, built around your skin
DermApproved grades skincare on published evidence, condition by condition — and once it knows a little about your skin, every page rearranges itself around you.
There are three layers to the site, and this guide walks them in order: telling it about your skin, browsing with grades that are actually yours, and building a dashboard that tracks your skin over months.
Each step below shows you the real screen and ends with something you can try immediately. The whole tour reads in about six minutes — or let the audio walk you through each step.

Tell it about your skin
Everything starts with your Skin Profile — a couple of minutes of honest answers that the whole site then works from.
Your skin type, the concerns you care about, how sensitive you are, and anything that has reacted on you. Four answers are enough to switch personalization on; the rest sharpen it whenever you feel like it. There are no wrong answers, and you can change any of them later.
One thing worth knowing before you type anything: your answers are saved in your browser, not sent to a server. The lock note on the page means exactly what it says.
Start your profile → about a minute for the four essentials
Step 3✓ seen
Read the grades while you browse
With a profile in place, browsing stops being generic: every product card carries a grade for your concerns.
The badges read like “A+ for your eczema” — a per-concern grade computed from the evidence behind each ingredient, not from popularity. Tap any badge and the site explains itself: which ingredients earned the grade and what the studies say.
When your concerns disagree about a product, you see both labels, and the safety warning always outranks the compliment. Anything on your avoid list is filtered out entirely, by ingredient list — not by marketing claims.
Browse your graded picks → every condition, ranked for that condition

Your Skin Dashboard
Your Skin Dashboard is home base: one page that gathers everything the site has worked out about your skin.
The top is who you are — type, concerns, the preferences the site is filtering by. Below it, the dashboard assembles itself: your concerns with their current best options, one short note worth knowing today, your routine, your shelf, and trends from anything you track.
It is a living page. Come back in a week and the note has moved on, the trends have new points, and anything you saved or logged is reflected. The more the site knows, the more the dashboard fills in.

Step 5✓ seen
Track what's actually changing
This is where the site earns its keep over months, not minutes: log what your skin is doing, and trends appear.
The tools section has the same severity scores clinics use — for eczema, acne, hives, psoriasis and more — plus a flare diary, a photo tracker and patch-test timers. Pick the one or two that fit your skin; nothing expects daily homework.
After a few entries, your dashboard starts plotting trends and telling you what direction things are moving. A follow-up appointment that starts with a chart and dated photos is a different conversation from one that starts with memory.
Pick a tracker → severity scores, diary, photos, timers

When products aren't the answer
Sometimes products aren’t the answer — and this site will actually tell you that.
Every major condition has a therapy guide: what genuinely works over the counter, when prescriptions enter the picture, and what a dermatologist is likely to be asked at the appointment. It is education in the order a clinician thinks, not a sales page.
Alongside the pathways sits a library of real questions — the ones people actually ask mid-treatment — answered with sources. Press the slash key (or ⌘K) on any page and search it directly.

Your data, your account
Everything you build here lives in your browser, private by default. A free account is the safety net.
My Library shows every piece of data the site keeps for you — what is stored, where it is used, and how to export or delete it. That inventory exists whether or not you ever create an account.
The account adds three things: your dashboard survives browser clean-ups, it follows you to any device you sign in on, and your progress photos are backed up. It takes a minute, and the amber “not backed up” chip on your dashboard goes quiet for good.
Create your free account → backup, sync, photos — one minute

The screens above belong to Maya — one of six fictional people you can be for an afternoon. Test Drive loads months of sample data into every page and tool, touches nothing of your own, and resets when you leave.
