What Are Moles?
Moles are one of the most common benign skin growths. They are usually brown or black in color and can appear anywhere on the body. They usually start out flat and develop thickness over time.
Most are formed when skin cells grow in a cluster instead of spreading out. Although they’re usually present at birth they may appear later in life. If you notice a change in a mole’s size, shape or color, see a dermatologist for an evaluation to determine it’s nonmalignant. See our treatment video for more information.
