The Nd:YAG laser absorbs colored pigments in the skin, so it is used to remove tattoos and brown spots associated with aging and sun damage. The laser can penetrate and target melanin in the deep dermis, where melasma is created. One advantage of this laser is that there is no need for anesthesia, and the process is relatively painless. After treatment, the area will become white with some surrounding redness.

  • Effective treatment for pigmentation changes and wrinkles
  • Minimally invasive procedure
  • Long lasting results
  • Short recovery time
  • Reduction of scar tissue

The procedure is conducted under local anesthesia, and should not be painful. The skin will blister for one or two weeks after, which can be mildly painful and uncomfortable.

The costs vary widely depending on what the laser is treating, and the individual clinic. Ensure that you discuss expected costs as well as expectations thoroughly with your surgeon.
