A hair transplant is a procedure in which hair is harvested from healthy areas of growth and surgically transplanted into areas where hair growth is waning. It is primarily used to treat male pattern baldness. As new hair is not created, but merely relocated, the amount of hair that can be transplanted is limited by the number of hairs in the donor area that can be moved without sacrificing appearance in that area.

  • Restores areas of hair loss
  • Improves an individual’s confidence and self esteem

In the past, this procedure has been associated with pain, however, with the latest technology it is considerably more tolerable. Following transplantation, however, the hair will be red and inflamed for several days.

Costs depend widely on the severity of hair loss and can get costly. Expectations and forecast should be discussed with the doctor ahead of time.
